PROFESSIONAL IDENTITY OF LANGUAGE TEACHER TRAINEES DURING PRACTICUM: A METAPHOR ANALYSIS

Teachers may face dilemmas when they realize certain discrepancies between theory and practice throughout their career. Especially for teacher trainees, such dilemmatic spaces be beneficial in uncovering multiple identities developing being shaped especially during practicum. More specifically, the most frequent discrepancy could desire to explore one’s own identity please mentors supervisors. Therefore, training programs should provide trainees reflect analyze those so that develop professional (TPI) an unproblematic smooth manner. To this end, study involved 12 senior English into a 5-week process expressed growing through metaphorical discourse within scope of Teaching Practice I course. The thematic analyses elicited metaphors revealed vital hints about TPI language trainees. Besides, place importance understanding were discussed context education.
